I’m in the middle of transitioning from a Linux Engineering role into HFT Infrastructure. I’m handing over my existing duties while ramping up on low-latency systems, kernel tuning, and high-performance networking.
- Learning: Everything I can about HFT infrastructure — kernel bypass, NIC tuning, NUMA awareness, and low-latency patterns
- Reading: Linux Observability with BPF by David Calavera and Lorenzo Fontana
- Homelab: Gradually expanding my rack. Current hardware is mostly inherited/old. I plan to build this out further as I learn.
- Work: Handing over Linux infrastructure duties — documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer
Next Up
- Get my homelab services organized and documented
- Explore eBPF for observability
- Write more honestly about the transition from EUC → Linux → HFT
